Aren't they only 10hp different, 285 vs 295...unless you can get the 310hp 5.3?
The 4.8 should win.
EC has 2-piece d-shaft, RC has 1-piece. The center brg. on the 2-piece doesn't look too strong to me.

well I don't know about that I waxed what I thought was a 4.8 ecsb the other night comming back from the track... If it was a 5.3 i would tell that dude to hang it up, lol cause it was bad off... I told him that I had a 4.3, and he bout lost his mine.

I got a 5.3L reg cab. Extremely rare around here but it was a good price. Nothing like the LS1 but it still made me smile a few times, which says a lot about the truck.
I also found a couple reg cab (extended bed
) work trucks with 6.0L's in them, not very pretty or optioned but had a good price.
