Post falken stz04 tire info

ok, i ordered these tires and now have them on the truck. i still have stock wheels so my choice was 275 70 16 since that is the widest they make in the 16 inch wheel catagory for this tire.

first impressions of them on the truck, too tall! i should have gone with the 255 70's.

after driving on them for about 50 miles, they do hook better than the tires i had (bridgstone dueler at). however these are an inch taller than those tires and weigh 3 more lbs a piece and going around curves makes some road noise. not sure how the height and weight is gonna affect performance. then again, i hook better now so it might be equaled out.

lastly, i chose to have the white outlined letters placed on the inside this time. so right now, my truck looks funny as **** to me. i guess i will get used to it. i hope to get to the track this weekend to see how they handle there.

purpose of this post is to give an opinion on these tires for the stock wheeled people....

The white on the inside is the only way to go.

i am starting to like them the more and more as i drive and wear that sealant crap off that comes on the tire. Still a little noisy going around sharp curves but getting noticable quieter. in about a week i should have the tires just like i want them. Oh yea, traction is there. i can hardly spin these things over so after my "break in" of these tires i would expect them to really hook and move the truck.

Falken is the tire maker. I had 285/60/18, not sure what they make in 16's
Try the American Wheel & Tire shop on Spencer and Shaver

thunder, go to this website http://www.falkentire.com/tires/suv_choose.htm i got the stz04's. the biggest i could get is the size in my first post. the price was decent. i think i paid 420 with shipping for all four. you will probably be lucky and find some local. i was unable to track any down or have a dealer get some in for me.
