Factory chrome wheels question
I'm looking at installing some late model Denali wheels on my 2005 CC. A friend that works at a tire store pointed out that some chromed aluminum GM wheels that he has seen had severe corrosion problems where the tire bead seated against the rim. Has this been a recognized problem with these wheels? Thanks for any information you might have.

Yup, huge problem up here in the northern states.
They are a very poor quality chrome plating, they crack and get corrosion behind the plating and peel up all the time here. Southern state vehicles have a less chance at getting bad wheels but it's still possible to see.
I see it all the time on the Escalade 22's and some of the GMC rims. I'd prefer to get regular painted wheels myself or find some brand new take off's that haven't been run for long. Then prep and coat the wheels in a nice sealer/protector to make them last.
