Default Everyone look around the sun

Warning, don't look directly at the sun.

I stepped outside a while ago and looked up. There is a rainbow like corona around the sun. The sky between the sun and the rainbow is darker. What is it? Kinda weird. Tought I would share.

Here is a pic I found surfing the net of the rainbow thing...

Well the sun is having unusual solar radiation, solar winds, that is causing all sorts of neat things. Including some of the very unseasonable weather we are having. Solar winds are causing the aurora borealis (northern lights) to be visible as far south as the US Mexico border. So it is possible that the solar winds are hitting the atmosphere where you are; and that could be what you are seeing. It wont appear like the aurora borealis that you have seen because the magnetic/gravitational pull is just not the same as it is polls.

Now that being said; its most likey just just moisture in the air.
