Default everybody read :) udp ?

ok this is a question about a general part, and the effect of that part.the part is a udp made from a solid stock of aluminum with no dampening capablities just the pulley.the engine is interally balanced. what will be the effects of this udp on the motor internally?

I wouldn't want one of those on my engine. betterthanyou has a good explanation on the purpose for the dampener. With all the rotational stresses on the crank I wouldn't want to risk engine longevity for a marginal HP gain.

the stock piece is just steel with no dampening capabilities, as long as the new piece is properly engineered to be balanced in itself there's no problem, there is no harmonic balancer on these motors b/c they are internally balanced.

it is internally balanced but it also has a balancer, the new udp is just the pulley
