I'm planning on having my FPR changed, and probably plugs/wires...

Got the code read today = P0300 Random misfire

Any ideas on where to start or how to narrow it down?

Do the seafoam treatment, HIGHLY recommended, follow the instructions from the tips on here to do it, then run it for a day, then go get an oil change, on your way home stop and get plugs and wires, make sure the plugs are gapped precisely...and you should have no more issues!

I treat it with seafoam regularly, but why the oil treatment? I wouldn't think it has anything to do with that part of the engine.

I got the random misfire code once when there was a tiny hole in one of my plug wires where it was too close to the header. I hit a puddle of water and the thing went crazy. Might want to check the wires.

also clean the MAF with electrical contact cleaner while your in there updating. a false maf reading at idle will make it do this.

same thing was happening to my truck...the longer i stayed at an idle the worse it got and more it bogged as i took off...it was a loose plug wire, i went ahead and replaced all the wires and it cured it.
