dude do it yourself, you cant really take pride in it unless you do it yoruself. its more of a selfworth knowledge and abiltiy then anything.

i would do it myself but the thing is i dont want to mess stuff up, i'd be replacing the chain, cam, rods and springs. al i have is some ratched and basic hand tools and not that much know how not to mention ill be out of town ALL june and half of july without the truck so i was thinkin i coudl have my parents have someone do it. im graduating HS in may and to college in August so im not gonna have that much time to spend making sure i did it right and certainly dont have the time or money to spend if i mess something up. maybe i'd just buy a how to book. or have someone sned me a link to a write up or something. its just intimidating. im not a hard *** when it comes to the "lets try this and see if it works" ideas when it comes to first time installations of big time stuff

pretty much all it takes are basic hand tools aside a gear puller, torque wrench, and spring compressor, all which can be bought reasonably or rented from a local parts store. ls1howto.com has the how to article, with pics, for a cam/spring swap. it has a complete tool list and torque specs. you can do it, i don't know you, but i've got faith in you

spend time with the woman. truck stuff will come. you'll have plenty of time at college. find a few gear heads and have them help you. hell, get in good with the automotive department and use their facilities and tools.

yea thats what i was thinkin, ill accumulate all the parts here at home and bring them up with me. im gonna try to come back most weekends but during the week ill be bored so it will give me something to do. i still have tme to install stuff like my transmission cooler and soon a remote filter with temp gauge and plug wires but the big stuff will wait. i can handle the truck still being in the low 14's for a little longer...good call with the auto department though. ill have to loook into it
