Default Ease my mind about my truck..

This is my 6th GM and I ve had more trouble out of it than all of them put together. BTW its a 05 crew cab, z71, 5.3

-First the AC/heater messed up, relay or something, fan kept running even after the truck was turned off.
-Then a front diff seal was leaking.
-Steering rod was replaced.
-Rotors turned twice and then replaced.
-Now the drive shift/rear end is making a noise. (feels like something is sliding back and hitting the tailgate when I take off and makes a thud) Told me they will replace it but probably would only make 40-60% of it go away. GM says this is normal. SO WHY ARE THEY REPLACING THE DRIVE SHAFT IF ITS NORMAL!!!!!!
-At 17k miles it was over a quart low on tranny fluid, barely touching bottom of dip stick, yet no spots in my driveway. Dealership told me to watch it. Did fine for a while and I stopped checking it. Yesterday at 21k miles, it was over 1/2 quart low.

Not really worried about it now bc its under warranty but next Feb, it ll be mine to take care of. The tranny has me worried big time. I dont race it or dog it but I do haul and tow some. I m bout ready to trade the truck and get the wife something. I just have no confidence in the durablibilty of the truck. Do I have a possible lemon/problem truck or is this normal?

The front axle seal is very common, we do about 4-6 a day at our dealer. Steering rod, again, a very common problem. Rotors used to be a problem on the older ones right out of the box, so I'm not totally sure why that's the case with your '05. And, the driveshaft rear axle should be easily fixed with a nickle plated slip yoke for the front of the shaft going into the t-case. It is a gm service bulliten if I remember correctly. It also seems like once in a while a rear end will have significant problems, rare, but I have seen it. To cover the trans problem, we just had to replace the trans in an '06 with 12K miles on it a few weeks ago, so if I were you, I'd be all over them on that issue. I hope that helps
