E85 isn't a good alternative in a N/A engine. In a boosted engine it is the only pump gas to run. I can promise once you go E85 or even a custom E50 blend for track only purposes you wouldn't go back to 91.

It's good for a high compression engine also, because of the high octane rating.

What happens when you tune for E85 and switch back to pump 87 gas?

So if you are a SC application, but the motor is not FF, you can run E85 with the proper tune and it will be as strong or stronger?

It will run quite rich, as E85 has a lower stoich AFR.

Yes, it will be able to run more timing with the higher octane of the fuel.

no, haven't been driving my truck much, and haven't got the 60's in it yet. I still have 7/8 of a tank of 91 in it,

Ive got two for you.

1) in a stock 04 6.0L gmc can i run E85? only reason i ask is because the station in town just got it. They have it for $2.50 a gallon. regular is $3.50 a gallon... I only get 11 mpg so the extra $1.00 will ad up over a month i drive 3500 miles a month.

2) you all said it would be good for boosted motors or ones with high compression. My vette is about 13:8-14.8 compression. I run straight leaded 110-112 in now. Would i benifit from the E85 straight or mixing with the leaded.

i think you would need to swap out injectors and not sure what else. i know the 05+ can run on either or and i know many have converted their cars to run on it, though not sure all thats involved
