Default DRL mod/dimmer switch prob.

Well I wired the DRL to the outside turn signal so that they would blink opposite of the front turn signal. after a month or so of that the dimmer switch burnt out, I figured it was just happened or w.e About a month ago I installed a new one and it burnt out a week ago or so. I noticed just before the switch burnt out that it was pretty warm for what it is. Anyway It has to be cause of the 2 bulbs connected. I remember seeing something on here about the mod and a resistor in the DRL but was never able to find it again. Anyone know what ohm resistor i need or know of the link?

thanks

I am not trying to be a dick, but how does the DIMMER SWITCH burn out? Do you mean the FUSE for the switch?

Yes. Whatever it is burning out is because of the added load (draw) placed on it with the second light blinking. Typically, a flasher is capacitor, that "fills" with current up to a point, then releases that current, to the turn signal lamp. When you have a sencond bulb, especially one that blinks opposite the stock one, you are basically demanding that the flasher put out the power, and that will cause something to blow.

No, the dimmer switch will burn out on these. I lost my fog lights awhile ago, traced wires, did fuses, etc etc and came to find out that it was the actual dimmer/headlight switch itself, not anything in the fog light circuit.
