Sunshell is almost always a downfall of the 4l60.

But if he really spent 3 grand on it, it should be bullet proof. I only have 700 in mine but I also did the work myself so that's all parts

Yeah he had it done by a transmission shop all they did was GM Trannys.

Ok this is where I'm at:

1. I'm doing the corvette servo
2. I'm doing the shift kit if it doesn't need a retune because I just tuned the truck or is it worth it?
3. If it is worth it I'll do the Servo and get the Shift Kit and have it tuned when I get my 3.73-4.10 gears probably in winter this year.

Sounds like a plan to you guys?

I could be wrong, but when you get it tuned from places like that, I've been told ask they do is increase line pressures n the trans. Supposedly, you don't want high pressures with the vet servo. Can anyone confirm that?

That's a good question

1. Shops get expensive fast when it comes to trannys, so it might not be as tough as I originally thought.

2. No retune is required for the shift kit. At least it didn't for mine. And it is totally worth it.

3. I don't care what anybody says you can do with the pcm. It will never out perform a mechanical upgrade longer. Meaning you might get the same pressures but it's not designed to operate at those pressures.

So if my pressures were messed with in the tune I just got I would need to have put put back before the shift kit and servo or just the servo?

Despite popular belief, a built trans still needs tuning.

The largest problem with a stock program is in the FMC table.

If you look at the 100% table, it'll say 1235 or something similar. This is bad as the higher milliseconds tell the pcm to command less pressure. The 100% table in its stock form is bleeding off all pressure at 100% throttle.

Pretty sure that's bad, even for a built trans.

Needs to be tuned for multiple reasons, even after a shift kit to turn tm off and reduce effects of trans adapts... The pcm in stock form is designed to give a nice soft shift that you hardly feel.... And adding a shift kit increases line pressures, shortens shift times and basically does everything the pcm is trying to hide....

Ok so I need to get it tuned for a shift kit but what about a Corvette servo only?
