Default Do all '05 and newer trucks have electric fans?

Bought a harness for my street rod from an '05 Silverado. Should it have provisions for factory fans?

Thanks

it should have it's own relay box next to the regular fuse box under the hood

If it's for an 1500 '05 then yes. The only models I'm not sure about are the larger models (3500). But '05 was the first year with the electric fans. How or were the wires run, I'm not sure. I think there are tied into the fuse block, close to the fog lights relays. If you have the fuse block, check out the fuse block for any type of fan fuse or fan relay. If you have the PCM, check out the PCM to see if it has a wires going into locations 42 and 33.

Thanks, Guys. Don't have the fuse box but PCM does have wires at 42 and 43. Not sure how to proceed from here but at least the provision for fans is there.

You will have to buy a harness or make one. You'll just use wires at 42 and "33" to ground the trigger wires on the harness. There are two 42's and two 33's can't remember which side is which (I think 33 on green connector and 42 on blue connector).

Thanks for all the info. Now I have a question...

Do any of you know if the '05 has a different alternator than the '03-04'? I went through and labeled the plugs as best I could and had my '03 Avalanche and my wife's '04 Yukon XL sitting there for reference. Almost everything is the same except where the Alternator plug is on the others, the '05 harness I'm using has a much smaller plug and only two wires as opposed to three.

Here's the pic I got from ALLDATADIY for the '05...

Bump for the Question. I would assume that they went to a bigger alternator since that was the first year for the e-fans.

Sounds reasonable. Anyone got access to an '05 truck/SUV or know a member here that could check it out first-hand?
