Default disabling automatic headlights on yukon denali

I have an 02 yukon denali. I hated the automatic headlight system, so a couple years ago I searched online and found a way to disable them by putting resistors in place of the light sensors on the dash, so that is what I did.

This seemed to work fine for the most part, once every couple of weeks the auto headlights would come on at a random time during the day and I'd have to push the dome override button twice to get them to go back off.

Recently the headlights started coming on almost every time I start the truck and at random times while driving. I want to find a way to kill this system 100%, while of course still retaining normal function of the manual headlight switch.

Back a couple of years ago I experimented with removing fuses and relays under the hood, and as I recall that disabled the headlights altogether. I could not find a way to disable JUST the automatic function.

Does anybody have a good wiring diagram of this system that they can post or send to me?

Does anybody have specific suggestions for killing this system altogether?

On my 2000 Silvy, You step on the emergency brake lever slightly with the key off to disable the headlight DRL's. You can drive around like that without engaging the emergency brake but I'm pretty sure that's not what your trying to do so... bump!

press the little round button in the corner of the left side of the dash 3-4 times and they turn off

I know that. I mentioned in my post that "I push the dome override button to turn them off". I want a way to disable the heart of the system, not one that requires some sort of riggery or "code" every time I drive the truck.

If I had the wiring diagram for the truck I could probably figure it out on my own...
