Default Differences in model years

I want to buy a C10. Where can I find information on the differences in the model years on C10 trucks. I want a short wheelbase for sure.

Here's a site that has all of the Chevy trucks from '47 to present. A lot of people seem to like the 67-72 models out of all of them, personally I think those particular year trucks look good, but, I see too many of them. The 67-72 models are also pretty easy to find parts for.

I think the body styles were similar for 67-72/ 73-87. There are some differences in the 73-8? and 8?-87. I think the swap was in 82 or 83, but not positive. I just got a 78 I havent even seen yet

The C-10 I have now has the same cab as yours but I've got the stepside bed. The original color, from what I understand, is the exact same as yours ramjet but the color now is a blue candy color(supposedly). The C-10 has been sitting outside for a while now (10yrs+). I was running last summer until I stopped driving it again. It has a 350 w/ a 4-speed transmission. The original had 3 on the tree. But, my dad and his dad did everything to it. I don't plan on doing any frame-off stuff, The main thing right now is to get the gas tank out of the cab(behind the seat) and in to the bed, and replace the bench seat w/ bucket seats. Then I plan on putting a 6.0L(still not sure if I want to keep it old school engine-wise or not but I'm leaning toward the new stuff) with a 5 or 6-speed trans. I don't have any pictures right now but I'll get some in the next few days. Sorry about the long post. You should have gotten the 572. j/k. I think the 502 will get the job done though.

The 6th pic. is what color the oustide of the truck is supposed to be. The last two pics shows how big the engine bay is.

I want to get a pre-1975 model. How much lighter would a 72 swb be than a 73 swb. I've seen them on the road and the 73's look like they'd be much heavier.

I going to buy a 1970-1974 C10 and make a fast street truck out of it. I want it to be light. As far as I can tell, a 73-74 weighs just over 4,000 lbs. I can't find out how much a 70-72 weighs. Anyone know if the early ones are lighter? Also, is there an advantage to the the 73-74 models over the earlier ones?
