Well today I tried to swap mirrors from my truck and my old man's truck which is a 2001 GMC, well the wiring is freaking different!! After finding this out, I decided to see if the chrome part of the mirrors was removable, and what do you know, its attached with 3M tape and some clips.
So I unclipped my black covers and swapped them out with the chrome ones, and presto, I now have chrome mirrors!!

 

yeah see, i figured the wiring would be different since the tails have different wiring and all the interior electronic stuff changed.

i knew the chome piece could just be swapped but if its possible, swapping the whole mirror is easier.

either way, you got yur mirrors!

 

How did you pry the cover off without bending it? Do your mirrors have turn signal arrows?
