Like Budhayes said, degreeing the cam is only to insure it is what it is supposed to be. With todays machines and computer programs, I have not seen an LS cam that was not ground correctly. Thats why you see a cam that is a 112+4, that has 4 degrees ground in. In the old days they werent adding advance in the grind for the most part, therefore you had to manually advance it to get the optimum setup.
