Default Cruise Control Cable Question

I'm converting from my stock 2000 5.3L TB to a over-bored and polished one from a 2005-2006 6.0L. The problem is that my cable end that snaps on to the stud on the 5.3 TB is too small to go on the larger diameter 6.0L stud. Obviously GM used 2 different sized studs/cable ends...

Anybody else run into this? I sure could use a pn or advice on how to fix this problem... My Search here has not turned up what I need to know and the internet (Dorman, for example), lists one but doesn't specify whether it's specific to this application..

Thanks

The 04-07 throttle bodies are computer controlled (DBW) while the 99-03 ones are cable driven. These do not interchange. If the new one is really a 05-06 one it shouldnt have any provisions for a cable. Can you post some pics?

Atomic,
I stand corrected. Im just repeating what I thought I was told about this new OEM TB. The new one has the spring loaded bell crank and the stud for the kickdown cable. Problem is the stud is too big on the new TB to fit into the snap on end of the cruise cable retainer, (the plastic piece).

So as you say the new TB I have is a 99-03. Hard to believe GM would have used 2 different sized studs for the Cruise cable..

I bought new cable ends (the part with the socket that the ball/stud fits into) from Lokar awhile back, might see if you can search by that brand name.

If you go to Summit Racing and search for throttle cable end, there are several results that come up.
