i have HIDs in just my low beams. cost me $300 bucks, but well worth it. way brighter than any bulbs you're ever going to buy. you wont even need to use your high beams. i live in a pretty wooded / dark area and i dont even use the high beams.

I just installed HID's yesterday actually, very impressed, I payed $280 CDN after tax, got a conversion kit, very simple no change in wiring at all. All you have to do is mount the ballast. The stock light harness plugs into a plug on the HID bulb, and two other plugs off the HID bulb connect to the ballast. No upgrades to electrical system, HID's use more power when you first turn them on but once they are warmed up they use 40% less power (apparently)
I used to have silverstars, HID's kill any aftermarket bulbs out there. I got 6000K which are white with a hint of blue, anything more than 6000K and it gets to be pretty blue/purple. OEM HID's are 4500K (BMW, Mercedes etc) and 3000K is Yellow (Fog lights) They Range from 3000K to 12000K
