I'd like 1 that has the DIC if possible. I thought that '05 or '06 had a DIC that I could instantaneous MPG & tells oil lifew remaining. I don't really care what else a DIC would do, I'd just like those 2 features.

Plus the 2 newer yrs. change the PRNDL look.
04 was the last year for instant MPG. 05 does not have it. To get the dic function you will need the steering wheel with the controls on it. And clock spring part # 26101829. The dic will have to be programmed in the cluster if it does not already have it. otherwise the cluster with trans temp is plug and play. of course the mileage needs to be programmed in the cluster as well.

Here I thought an '06 would have it. Wait a minute, my sis-law had an '06 HD w/. a DIC. Or did the HD's get a different cluster pkg. And yes, that had the steering wheel u speak of. Which I'm not crazy bout, no offense if u have that on your GMC. I'll guess to program DIC into cluster, I'd need someone w/. a Tech2.

Thanks outlawz2004, so I got some bad info.

They will have the dic its just the instant MPG was dropped after the 04 model year..
You need the steering wheel controls and the clock spring to make the dic work if your truck did not come with them.

heres what the 05 and up will have...

Ribeiro, while I wasn't aware of the white LED on the 06-07 PRNDL, I meant that on my '04, the PRNDL is separate from the speedo part. Later than '04, it has more of integrated look, since PRNDL is together w/. speedo & they slant the writing vs. the bold square look that mine has.

heres what the 05 and up will have...

I knew I shoulda bought a blue '04 Sierra instead.
I almsot did.

So, could I just get steer wheel controls, or do I need a the whole column?
By controls, I'm thinkin, you're sayin, I'd just need that top part between steering wheel. Not the rest goin down, where the top 1/2 attaches. What the heck is a clockspring?

Thanks for the links. If I (or anyone) wanted to do this w/. GM parts, these 2 links help. Or if aftermarket, I know Autometer came out w/. a Gas Gauge if that was all I was after, but it is only for specific vehicles /yrs.

Or just watch my tach & add a boost gauge w/. vacuum.
