Default chevalade

I've got an '05 chevy with caddy front end and some other caddy accessories. I've gotten the looks that I want for my truck done and now I'm ready for performance. Here's my question my truck is a 5.3 2wd 327 with 2 seperate super truck exhaust systems coming out each side. I have gibson performance ceramic headers. predator programmer...intake and spacer.....should I upgrade my engine with a whipple supercharger and transmission and rear-end or which ya'll think would be a preferred supercharger...or what I was wanting to do which is put a 427 in it but i would need to know what kind of transmission to put in there and rear end for gas and speed...thanks

Welcome to the site. You'll get lots of opinions, so here is mine:

Forget the name whipple until they have an intercooled product. The magnacharger Radix is the most complete proven kit on the market. The STS turbo guys are pretty happy with their product too. A stroker motor like the 427 would be a great option, but more expensive than the other choices.

Where are you from?

Welcome! Sounds like youve got quite a pretty good idea of what you are looking for. If you are staying with the 5.3 I think the Radix will be a more complete install and go package, but the STS makes some killer power and you can upgrade turbos to fit your app at the time of purchase. I dont know of many that have had to do rear end work, but that tranny probably wont hold up to much abuse for long.

I agree that the whipple is a waste of $$$ untill they come out w/ an intercooled setup.

Radix is the popular S/Cer around here... but I am kinda partial to the Vortech system (gonna catch hell for that one )

As far as the tranny goes... you cold either drop the money for a built FLP trans or IMO the better option go w/ a 4L80e.

Get some pics of theat 'chevalade' posted!

thanks for the replies....I've got another question...i hear there is a new computer system for $800 for the chevy or it may be a generic type but either way I heard it can tune your ride as you drive and to your form of driving..(drag, gas economy, road trips, etc...). Is it true and what electronic devices do ya'll recommend to produce the most horsepower but I tend to travel alot with my job and personal so I need a little gas mileage too. Oh yeah my spending limit is less than $1000 on electronics? thanks for ya'lls help
