can't remove relay from fuse box

Default can't remove relay from fuse box

the last 2 times i have changed my fuel filter, i tried pulling the fuel pump relay in the fuse box. but for some reason i can't pull it loose. what am i doing wrong?

Why are you doing that? Seems like an extra step. I just release the pressure from the valve on the fuel rail. Not that much gas comes out and it doesn't hurt anything.

i saw that option too in my haynes manual, but i also read on this forum you could pull the relay as well.

i still would like to know how to get the relays out

You have to pull REALLY hard. Those relays are little buggers to get out. Wiggle it a little while pulling on it. . . . I think I'm starting to get into the offensive

What he said will do it. I used a pair of pliers to get mine out.

thanks. not sure why it is such a bitch to get out. i pulled pretty hard. i'll try to get a better grip next time
