Can I get an Fbody alternator to fit the truck accys?

For now, anyway. I've been driving the truck a little here and there, and I noticed last night that I'm only getting about 12 volts outta the system. I'm guessing the alternator is on the way out. I have a problem w/ buying a new truck alternator as I'm trying to convert to the car accessories...I just don't have everything that I need just yet. Is there any way to make the car alternator work w/ the truck accys? Can I just switch pullies and roll out, or would there be more involved?
Anyone have a source on chrome LS1 car alternators?

The fbody alt in located at the bottom on the driver side and is mounted differently than they are on the truck brackets. I dont see it working for you.
btw.. what is you time frame for converting to the car accs? I still have my stock alt I will let you borrow till you get the conversion done.

Could I go ahead and convert to the car accessories and leave the truck manifold on there? I might have to move this project up the list....I appreciate the offer man, but I don't know when I'll have everything together. I have:
--alternator/ps bracket (w/ PS pump and pulley, no alt)
--a/c bracket (I have a compressor promised to me, but I don't have it in my hands yet.)
--F car water pump
--f-car balancer
What am I missing...the idler and the alternator? Belts? Hmmm.
