Default A/C evap replace without dash removal?

The a/c evap leaks in my 03 Silverado 2500 HD. I've been looking at Youtube videos of guys hacking their dash and heater box to remove the evap without pulling the dash.

Has anyone done this successfully and had a good result that didn't look like someone attacked their truck with a hatchet?

I used to be a dealership Benz tech and hate to see hack jobs, much less do a hack job. However, I don't have time to pull the dash cometely out, nor am I willing to spend the $ to pay someone to do it to a 15 year old work truck....

Anyone who's done this, let's hear about it - and better yet, post a few pics...

It isn't that bad to pull the dash actually. Especially if you watch some videos to learn where all the bolts are and the trick to get the grab handle off. I'd just take the truck down for a couple of days and pull the dash.
