Brake Upgrades???
2005 Silverado 1500 with a 4.8. The brakes suck so I'm looking at what everyone thinks I should upgrade too. Already planning on swapping to discs in the rear. What all is out there that people recommend? Looking for bigger calipers, booster etc..

i have an 02 and swapping to hydroboost was the biggest improvement ive ever seen in brake upgrades
this past weekend i put 05 fronts and suv rears on my truck and its nice but it wasnt as big of a change as when i went from vacuum to hydraulic booster.

HydroBoost, yes.
.
02 Tahoe:
HydroBoost, all parts available from O'reillys or carquest auto parts store, cheap. Just ask for the same year w/ Hydroboost.
Pretty straight forward swap, you have to drill about 3/8 hole in firewall because one of the backing plate bolts is in a different spot, and either find a Hydroboost brake PEDAL lever from wreck yard.
(OR redrill the pushrod pin mounting hole in your brake lever, although that is a bit technical, as it is a tapered hole, and you probably want to tack weld the pushrod pin, for safety... If you are handy with a drill press, have a 20 ton press, and a TIG welder, it will not take long. The pushrod pin is one inch closer to the pivot bushing on the Hydroboost pedal lever: 2.5", as compared to 3.5" on the vacuum lever.
Front brakes from a 2007 TAHOE will fit directly on your older model:
Rotors, calipers, pads. I used the Tahoe Police Pursuit pads, they are semi metallic.
Hydroboost is a HUGE upgrade, even more significant than the larger brake rotors.

Not sure what all your goals are but believe it or not, one of the biggest differences I've felt on mine as far as pedal "feel" came from switching the rubber flex lines to stainless steel flex lines.... Night and day difference as far as brake grip goes without using a lot of pedal pressure.
