ok maybe i'm stupid here but i'm installing a set of stainless brake lines. i got the rears done now on the front i'm having trouble. i need pics of how you routed yours. i can see how to route it bu i need to see how you secured it. routing it like stock seems like it will rub.

 

I don't have pics, but my lines came with instructions and was supposed to have little clamps w/ rubber sleves to secure the lines, but half of the clamps were missing. To remedy the situation, I pried open the factory bracket, cut a piece of fuel line hose, and installed the brake line into the bracket, safely wrapped in the hose. I clamped the bracket snug around the brake line and it's been good for a little less than a year now

 

thats what i was going to do myself. no instructions though. just said to run them the way stock was ran.

 

It's been working for me, just be sure to turn the wheel all the way in both directions so before you totally secure the line so it doesn't pull either way

 

when you did the front did you jack up the front by the lower arm? that way it compressed it? and i thought the rear was hard. you truck guys ar lucky. my tahoe had 4 rear lines.

 

I had the jackstands on the frame, but I did put a floor jack under the control arms to check the clearance with the front suspension both compressed and extended.

 

i think i got them good to go. it was more of a pain in the *** than i thought it would be. broke the same bolt on both sides. the one on the upper control arm. are those steel or cast? if its steel I'm gonna weld the bracket on.

 

Good question, not sure if they're steel or cast. Which bolt broke, the one that holds the brake line bracket?

 

yeah the one on the arm that holds the bracket on.

 

Crap, that sucks, but it's typical. You could always drill out the old bolts and tap for new ones.
