I have four wheels and tires on ebay, and I was wondering if anyone knew the cheapest carrier to ship with. Each combo weighs about 75lbs. Any estimates on prices because I might just charge a flat rate.

i like fed ex, last time i shiped wheels they were around 60lbs i think and the cost was $75 for all 4.
the other option is lash them to a pallate and ship something like forward air. i think that would cost more though.
i just punched in the numbers for fedex, 4 at 30x30x11x70lb's is $114 from nebraska to sandiego. problem is it said 70lb's max for home delivery.

What service is everyone using? I can't get a rate under $200 no matter what I do. I calculated FedEx ground with 2 150lb boxes 35x35x26 going from 77845 TX to 80421 CO, and it said $202.50. FedEx freight service is in the $300s for slowest possible. I am so confused as to how everyone ships for $90 to $150 that I see in all the ebay auctions.

I shipped some wheels with tires UPS one time. All you have to do is put a pretty thick piece of cardboard over the front of the wheel only. Tape it on there good and just roll each one into the shipping place. I forget how much it was but, it wasn't cheap.
UPS has a maximum weight limit of 150lbs if I remember right, just ship each wheel as a seperate item and you should be fine. They had no problems shipping mine.

I shipped my old Silverado wheels and tires when I bought some Escalade wheels. I used Fed Ex, they were $10 cheaper per tire than UPS. All I did was get a roll of the heavy duty shipping plastic and wrap each one up in it real good. Fed Ex didn't have a problem with them like that, UPS wanted me to box each one.
