Default bed liners and covers

I need both a bed liner and top cover. The cover has to lock. Anyone using/know of anything good out there?

Also wondering whether to spray a bed or install a plastic liner.

Thanks!

Definitely go spray-in, especially if you want a cover too. You will have a hard time finding a cover that will work with a drop-in plastic liner. Are you wanting a fiberglass cover painted to match, or a vinyl, or a roll up? I had an Extang full-tilt cover before, and now I have a Pace-Edwards Jackrabbit roll-top that I really like. It locks, and I bought an electric tailgate lock that works with the factory door locks, so the tailgate locks and the top locks. If you go with a fiberglass cover that overlaps the end of the tailgate you can skip the tailgate lock cause the cover will keep it from opening.

I swapped my drop in out for a spray in. With drop ins, they can rub through the paint and water can also get under them.

As far as covers, I assume you are looking for a hard tonneau since it has to lock. I have a ******** and I am very plessed with it. It was colormatched from them and is the same as stock. The x2000 covers also come with a bolt in, easy to open/close hinge system that works flawlessly. I have also heard good things about snugtop. They even have a remote open/close that is optonal with some of their tops. There are other covers, but most don't like them cause they seem bulky. Both snugtop and ******* are low profile over the rail covers.

I've had the Pace Edward's JackRabbit roll-top cover for a little over 3 years now and it has held up well (and it locks as mentioned above). I also had the Pace Edward's PowerGate tailgate lock, but after the solenoid seized twice (in the lock position of course ), I ditched it for a Bully manual tailgate lock. I like that the cover mounts flush, but you do lose some bed space if that's a concern. I have pics of it on my CarDomain page if you want to check it out (link in sig)

For a liner, I have the plastic GM drop in liner...it's an under the rail style, so it works with the cover. Eventually I plan to remove it though and either get a spray in or possibly a bed rug...the plastic cover does move slightly and rub the bed, not to mention, moisture, leaves, and other debris get stuck underneath it.

Stay away from Checkmate!!! I've heard too many bad things about them, that's why their covers are so cheap!

I personally will be going with a Snugtop and a Bed Rug.

Teddy I have a sprayed in liner and it doesn't protect the bed from denting at all.. You'ld be suprised how easy the beds dent. If you plan on haulin anything you might want to consider an under the rail drop in. Or you could do both spray in with the plasic one on top.
Jesse does the spray in liners might want to pm him.

I've got a RhinoLiner in mine. I like it for the most part. I had a Armacoating in the last truck, I'm not sure they are in business anymore. Rhino is rubbery, LineX is similar to armacoating which is hard. Depends what you want. Stuff won't slide on a Rhino, that may be a good thing or a bad thing.

Example: I was having a load of lime put in my truck by a forklift. he could only get it so far so he tried to push it the rest of the say, NOPE. wouldn't budge.

I have a Lebra full tilt cover on mine also. It is cool, but, i already have a hole in it and i just tore it on Saturday while taking it off. Looks like i need to replace it, lasted 3 years. I also have a power locking tailgate. LOVE IT. the best part is, it's loud as hell. I like to scare the **** out of people who get too close. lol

go with the sprayed in liner. the drop ins tend to get warped and lose their shape after a few years. also the paint chips underneath them. i had mine sprayed 2 years ago and it still looks brand new even after loading and unloading my 4 wheeler almost every week.
