Do the big stall first. It'll launch hard outta the hole and eliminate any "dead spots" like say the 40mph punch. It'll take some getting used to but, after about a week or so you won't even remember what the truck felt like with a stock stall.

You'll hardly even feel the upshifts with a big stall because it'll just keep pulling from the torque multiplication.

One other nice thing about the big stall is that you get to keep the low cruising rpms on the highway with the 3.42's.

Oh yeah, 99SilveradoSS - Congrats on killng that little sports car. I'm not sure what they run stock though.

They can run low 14's with an apt driver, but you really have to wind them to hell and back to run that (6k-7k launch, 9k shifts). Chances are the best that guy would muster is mid-high 14's.

Peace,
Josh

I'm not bullcraping or anything, but this guy new how to shift that car. When he would shift, he would kinda launch during the shift and make up a few feet. My guess is that he would run at least 14.7-14.8, judging my times, new gears and how close the race was.

Get the stall first. I got my 3.90's first and while it launches better than it did with the 3.42's its still not what I consider great. I can't wait to get my new converter in and start kickin *** off the line.

Plus, at least with my 3.90's I haven't noticed much of a loss up high.

Nice.

I posted a while back that my girlfriend killed one with my truck. She pretty much ate it up in first gear when the other driver went for another gear... if I remember right. It was all relatively low-speed stuff.
