dont let it hang down if you tow a boat, when you back in the lake it will suck up water.. temperature change from the trans getting wet creates suction. (happened to a friends diff)

I may be wrong but it looks like it is not hooked to the top of the transmission either. see the t on the hose. It slides onto a little hose top center of the trans.

yeah your right. i remember during the tranny swap i couldnt find the little rubber hose that went from the T to the top of the transmission, and saying to hell with it. is the other end of that hose connected to anything? if not i think im going to ditch the whole thing.

Here's where the vent end mounts. 2 vents in this case(4WD). Other end of the big hose just hangs out back.

Perfect pic DrX...

Mount that vent where it belongs, GM has enough problems with their different vents filling with junk when mounted in the factory position, I'm sure that it will quickly fill with junk if you just leave it hanging. Or you can do it the ghetto way and just zip tie it somewhere up high...

I have mine on the passenger floor. Couldn't figure out where the hell to route it to. Buddy told me it was just a breather hose so I took it out. Guess now I can re-install it.

i was changin my oil today and i saw the hose....... seems like it goes plugged into the tranny
