Default Anyone get a track time on their Vortec MAX yet?

I was just curious about 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on these new Vortec MAX trucks. Has anyone used a performance computer, or run one at a track yet?

I saw a Duramax that was running a 14.7 1/4 mile. I was wondering if my Vortec MAX could hang with that.

P.S. I have 200 miles on it now, 300 left before I can mash it

The ss's run 14.9s and you maybe doing 14.9-15.2, vortec max with a tune should take that duramax plus an intake and exhaust you should be to 14.2-14.5

Are you talking about the AWD SS or the 2WD SS? The AWD is more comparable to my truck because it has 4.10 axles also and 4WD. The 2WD is a couple of hundred pounds lighter but is handicapped by 3.73 gears.

The AWD's run around 14.9's, I haven't seen any times on the 2wd's yet. Like 5.3AlmnBlk said, tune, exhaust, and intake will take you there.

i haven't seen any numbers yet, but i'd expect around 14.8-15.2 from it.

I believe the AWD will get you the same thing as the 2wd it can be lighter but it will also be harder to hook.

What year is the Duramax? The 06's got a pretty good bump in the hp/tq department. If that guy gets a chip in before you race him I think you're gonna be in for a surprise. Aren't they something like 360/650 stock now?

The Duramax that ran the 14.7 was an 03. It had an Edge module in stage 4 (whatever that means).

I have a Nissan Maxima that runs the 1/4 in about 15.1. I had a Duramax pull on my Nissan a couple of weeks ago. I was very impressed.

I just don't want those Duramax trucks to think they have one up on my new truck

Yes the current Duramax trucks are 360 HP and 650 Ft/Lbs. I don't think that they have as much "headroom" for improvements because Chevy has "turned it up" already.

after finally getting around to playing with some vortec max programming today i must say that if you decide to race someone, keep it out of the tow/haul mode. there is a huge difference in the torque management between normal and tow/haul mode and normal with normal being much better.
