Anyone ever want to build a 4 cylinder?

I have a 99' s10 w/ the 2.2 in it and i will tell you they have very weak internals. it is a 5 speed and of course i drive it like i do my silverado, and it popped the pistons in it with relative ease. now it has a new motor but its the same POS 2.2
