My 2001 I just traded in you could disable the auto locks but the '05 I just got only lists mode 1 (lock in gear) or mode 2 (lock at 8mph+) and nothing else. I can also program it through the steering wheel/DIC and it only gives those two options. Any way to disable it, it annoys the crap out of me

Yes.....It is in the driver settings on the dash cluster. You can control it with the steering wheel buttons. Check your owners manual.

 

My truck is an 04 but doesn't have steering wheel buttons. Any other way?

 

I only have the two options on the cluster/steering wheel. In gear or 8mph, there is no 'off'

 

Check your manual....I know it can be done with a sequence of buttons on the DL.

 

Read it 3 times, only options they give are mode 1 and mode 2, I may be old but my reading comprehension isnt that bad. I may be in denial though

You might want to check with your Service dept. I am SURE they have had plenty of people that want to turn that annoying feature off.

 

I looked though service information at work. Cant find anyway to turn that feature off complety, only the 2 options listed in the owners book. Sorry

 

Oh well, it just gets a little annoying. I bet they do thay on the crew cabs so kids cant open the rear doors when driving if the child lock things arent engaged, didnt have to worry about that with the extended cab
