Another knock sensor code, P0327
#1
Hi I'm new to the forum and I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I have a 04 silverado 5.3 and can't get this knock sensor code to go away. At first I washed my engine (bad idea) which caused all of this. I had codes P0332 and P0327 so I ordered 2 AC Delco sensors from Amazon along with a Dorman harness. I've replaced everything and now I am still getting code P0327. I've been reading around trying to figure out what could be causing this and a lot of people have told me to buy everything AC Delco. However I decided to do some testing before I go and spend more money. I measured resistance in the dorman harness (the end that plugs in on top of the intake) and it read 100k Ohms on one prong and 0 on the other.. Also I measured each KS, front was 103K ohms and rear was about 102k ohms... Heres where I'm confused, I measured Voltage at the end of the harness (where it plugs into the KS) and both front and rear were only reading 0.03V.. I even plugged in the old harness that I originally replaced and it had the same readings. Shouldn't it be around 5V?
I was thinking I should check the PCM for voltage but I can't get the connectors to unplug after loosening the two 7mm nuts. I don't want to break something.
Hopefully someone with some more experience can help me out because I need to get an inspection and this really has me stumped.
Any input would be great!

Did you use a torque wrench to install the sensors? 18 ft lbs? Just find someone with tuning software and turn the codes off. 99.99% of the time the sensors will still work and detect knock but just fail their background noise diagnostics. They've been off on my 04 Silverado for years.
