Default Alternator Sparking??

Getting an electric sparking sound when I rev the engine sometimes.. Can't tell where it's coming from. I would think it would be the alternator, but never had that happen to an alternator before. Smells electrical also.

It's an 04 Tahoe, 145amp alternator, 130000 miles. Only putting out around 13 volts at the gauge with everything running in 110 degree outdoor temps.

Anyone have this happen....

Ok, not the alternator. Took it off, had it tested, its fine. What the heck could be sparking under the hood under rev. Wires look fine... coil pack maybe??

If you hear a sparking noise, it is most likely a coil pack or a bad wire. Put it in the dark and see if you can see it. Otherwise, go pack by pack and look for burn marks.
