Question Adding a USB port

I want to add a USB power port to my console. Has anyone done this? Please give me your insight. The 2009 and newer GMT900 trucks have the USB power port inside the console.

new GM vehicles have a USB port so you can directly hook your portable music device into the audio system

I've dealt with a couple systems in the Equinoxes (Equini?) and Camaros, the USB is attached to a console harness specially equipped for the USB port, combined with the correct programming for each vehicle makes it extremely hard to swap in

I have one on an addapter that plugs into my cig lighter and I use it to charge my Ipods/phones. Works great and its simple just to carry a small wire vs a huge plug.

I use a USB cable routed to an open spot in my dash for an 8gig thumb drive. I have it connected to a Pioneer Premiere head unit. Since I am in the process of building a custom center console I wanted to add a usb port and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/Cables-To-Go-1FT...item27ae38713d. Not sure if that is what you were looking for.
