Default Accident dilemma

So on the 26th I was hit by some jackass in a 'F150. We were going down a 3 lane road, I was in the middle lane and he was in the lane to the left of me. As we were going across the intersection this ******* swerves abruptly into my lane according to him to miss hitting a car that was in the turning lane next to him. Well we pull over and he says "What happen?" There's about a foot and a half scratch down my drivers door and other marks on the front fender and bed of the truck and my side mirror folded in. So apparently this idiot HIT ME but then he goes to deny causing absolutely any damage. Now keep in mind his piece of **** 81 F150 is already dented to hell all down the side. I called local PD but they said they wouldn't do a police report since there were no injuries. After about a week in dealing with insurance companies, AAA (his insurance) is denying liability for any damages because there is not enough evidence to prove that he merged into my lane. WTF?!?!!? I'm ******* pissed.

So what should I do now? Go down to the police station and try to get a file a police report? Anyone know of any good lawyers? This bitch is paying for what he did to my baby. I'll try to get some pics up soon.

TIA.

I've been thru this and you have no choice but to let your insurance company fight his. You deal only with your ins company.

I've had this happen twice, once was a drunk who hit my bike in the parkng lot. He couldn't find his own spot and hit my bike which was covered, so hard it moved up and over the concrete tire stop but did not fall over.

I found his car still attached to my parked and covered bike and took tons of pics. He was found by the police, on the ground just outside his car, passed out and was taken to the hospital but not charged....nobody saw him driving????
His insurance company denied the claim because he wasn't charged! I got my bike fixed and he moved a few days later
