Oh man, it's a bitch! I hate doing those bastards. You gotta go in from the heater box, which is under your dash on the passenger side. It's a couple of long hours my friend.

Well damn, but its probably worth the effort then paying the stealer several hundred bucks.

So instead of a half assed fix i should do install the new actuator since its such a long process?:nunchuk1:

Brother, if I was going to go all the way inside that heater box just to close the door, hell I'd put the new actuator in there while I was already in that shitty mess.

If you're having propblems with the air mode or temp modes, in your AC HVAC system, try this before you go to another drastic decision. Usually this corrects the problem without having to see a GM Service facility. If you Moderators are reading, you may want to add this to a Sticky Thread. Anyways...below is the info you seek....lol.

Actuator Recalibration
When replacing the HVAC control module it will be necessary to allow the HVAC control module to perform a calibration process. When installing the HVAC control module be sure to perform the following:

Important: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.

Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the scan tool.
Install the HVAC control module.
Connect all previously disconnected components.
Start the vehicle.
Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.
Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.
