Absolutly horrible fuel mileage
Blah blah blah yeah I know its a modded truck and I shouldnt exspect to get good fuel mileage which I never did exspect. My silverado has the mods in my sig, and she was getting around 430km (260 miles) per tank of fuel 94ish liters (approx 25 us gallons)
The only thing I did to it was I added my 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires, now Ive had it lifted before and exspected my feul mileage to drop down to about 350km a tank (218 miles per tank)
But no it cut my feul mileage in half! I only went to through half a tank so far but I only got 100 km to half the tank (60 miles)
Where should I start looking for problems? Or would the increase in height due to the 6" lift cause this? Ive only had it lifted about 3 inches in the past
Any help is appreciated

DID YOU HAVE 35s ON IT WHEN YOU HAD IT LIFTED LAST TIME? DID YOU CHANGE GEARS OR ARE THEY STOCK RATIO? GEARING THE AXLES TO MATCH THE TIRES AND GET THE ENGINE BACK INTO ITS TORQUE CURVE MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN MILAGE. WHEN THE ENGINE IS RUNNING THE RPM RANGE OF WHER IT FEELS LIKE IT IS FREE AND NOT PULLING WITH MINIMAL THROTTLE MOVEMENT GOING DOWN THE ROAD. TO LOW OF RPMs WILL USE MORE FUEL AND TO HIGH AND IT WILL DO THE SAME THER IS A SWEET SPOT TO ANY SBC MOTOR WHER IT LIKES TO RUN WHEN YOU FIND IT. THEN IT WILL GET GOOD MILEAGE

KIFER88, WHY ARE YOU YELLING?!?
Chevy Cowboy, your tires are the culprit here, not the height of your lift. Regearing your setup for your new rolling stock will work wonders. A tune won't hurt matters either. Unfortunately it isn't cheap to regear a 4x4, but that's the price we pay to play. I have 33s with 3.73s and the truck would be happier on 4.10s, but your setup is way off, with 3.42 or worse gears lugging around 35" rolling stock. I would recommend 4.56s ASAP to get yourself squared away. Plus your truck's manners should improve nicely after the torque gain.

Yeah but the wind resistance is negligible unless you spend all your time on the freeway. Maybe a 2mpg difference. Definitely not enough to make a truck get 5.5mpg. That's ridiculous. My 6.2 truck is averaging 13mpg at an average of 45mph but with aggressive spurts in the city right now on 33s with 3.73s and a tune.

google Gear raitio calculator and you will find many sites that have the calculor for finding a correct ratio by using your tire size, rpm, final trans ratio, and if you have a tcase it may ask for that final out put ratio. hope this helps..

Do places that you regularly visit seem a lot closer than they used to be? For example, did your job used to be 24 miles away, and now it is only 19? If so, you need to re-calibrate your speedometer for the bigger tires. If the odometer is falsely reading less miles, that would lower the calculated fuel mileage.
