Default 99+ Extended Cab Rear Quarter window air leaks..Help?

I've got a 99 Extended Cab Silverado and the rear quarter window on the drivers side mostly has an air leak... If I only close the latch halfway, its not as noticeable as it is fully closed....
Is or has there been anything that GM has done on this weatherstripping to remedy the problem?
Does anyone else have this problem? I'm just curious to know if there has been a fix or something someone has done to fix the problem.... any ideas or input would be appreciated!

I have that on the passenger side. Mine is only noticeable in cold dry climates. Theres not much weatherstripping to stuff w/ foam.

You can PM ONE04FX4, he's a Mod in the Ford section but used to go by 02Denali before he switched camps. He did a nice write up a few years back on a fix for this problem. You could maybe do a search, but if not he's real cool and will point ya in the right direction.

For that screw mod, how do you get the drill in there to make the pilot holes? Is there a way to take off the glass easily? Also, how you you take that entire inside door panel off?

The interior panel has two screws(7mm hex head) holding it on, then a lot of snap things.. Just take off the screws and gently tug(or if you have them, tug with nylon trim stuff) and pop them off.
