Default 99 5.3 swap to 05 5.3, possible issues?

I'm thinking of swapping my engine out for a lower mileage one. I found a 05 engine out of a z71 suburban that is in my price range. Are there any issues with doing a direct swap? Or do I need to go for something for 99 -02?

Thanks guys?

Swap the long block and you are just fine.

Use your intake/throttle body and wire harness and it's pretty much a direct swap. If you ever plan to go for more power use the 05 injectors, as they are larger than your 1999 injectors. Though note that the 05 injectors are only 25 lb/hr compared to your 21lb/hr so you still can't go that far with them, like a cam swap would nearly max them. If they are flex fuel injectors you'd have even more headroom.

Of course a tune would be require for that injector change.
