Ok...I got a 86 chevrolet silverado bodies ruff...just put a brand new transmission in it a month ago...and now...i'm moven to the engine it runs decent but...the carburateur needs replaced and the intake...is leaking!...

What would you suggest...for this...its a 4x4 wit extra tow stuff on it I don't really pull ne thing I'd rather this truck be fast....or feel like it has power...

what Carburateur and Intake would you suggest?...

right now i got Edelbrock both..but they are both Shot!...

I assume the intake is an Edelbrock Performer - don't know why it would be 'shot'. If there's a leak, fix it. As far as carbs, I like Holley for some reason.

But if you want to feel more power, put in a new bumpstick and some headers.

I'd go Edelbrock performer air-gap intake and a demon 650 carb. I'd also put a new cam in, nothing special just something with good power from idle to about 5-6K. If it's like my '86, the cam, carb and intake will take a day or so, and will be very easy in the process. If you want the "fast" feeling, you can always add a hair dryer or a blower. The stock lower end should be a four bolt and should be able to take the boost, pending mileage and condition of course. I think other than the carb, cam and intake i'd also add headers and exhaust, the factory manifolds with the A.I.R. stuff are really bad for flow, not to mention the 40 pound, 20 year old cat. Check out a jegs mag, you can do headers for 265 (ceramic coated), and about 100 for the pipes, header back.
