Default 6L temp Question

Had to drive home about 20 mins, ran the A/C on 2-3 the entire time. Checked the temp earlier while running the A/C and it was fine, just under 210 where it normally is. Its about 105* today, its actually really nice haha. Anyway, pull in my driveway and its at what Im guessing about 230-235 This is my 1st summer with the 6.0 and I dont use the A/C very often cuz Im crazy and love the heat. Is this normal temp? I dont think my 4.8 EVER got that hot with A/C on for any period of time. Turned the truck off and the fans ran about an extra min or 2 with the key off, usually doesnt do that so it wasnt very happy. Coolant wasn't bubbling or anything tho.

Sorry its long, bottom line, 105* heat, with A/C on about 20 mins driving and truck was ~235, too hot??

Sounds too hot to me. What thermostat are you running?

235=Too hot...as Thunder asked, what T-stat are you running? Is it possible that there's some crud on the radiator blocking air flow? Maybe a blockage in the system or a clog in the radiator? What efans are you running? Do both fans come on high with the AC on?

My 5.3, on about a 100*, humid day, with the stock clutch fan, never saw more than 205ish with the stock thermostat (195*). And that was after beating the **** out of it, and it quickly came back down to 195-197* where it pretty much consistently stayed. (this was with the AC on...I like to drive with the AC off and the windows open, but once the humidity rises and the ambient temp tips past the 90's, the windows go up and the AC goes on )

Also, if your trans cooler lines are going through the radiator, your trans temps are going to rise too (not sure if you're running a big trans cooler or not). I'd log trans temps also.

Are you going by the factory gauge or a scan tool/ logging software?

no scanning power at the moment. Stock thermostat and all the coolant is new. This radiators been dumped like 3-4 times since I've had it, haha waterpump has been off 3-4 times and theres nothing wrong with it. Fans are Perma-Cools and I belive when I looked them up it was something assinine like 6k CFM. The fans are also constantly on "High" because I have them rigged with a "N20" switch. But the little temp tube is pushed in the radiator and when it was that hot the fans stayed on. Coolant wasnt bubbling or anything in the bottle. Think maybe the T-stat is takin a dump? its got 91k on it?

No trans cooler either, I think I should pick one up

My 6.0 seems to get a little hotter than my 4.8 did on a daily basis, especially after a few passes that the track. That could have something to do with my turbo size though.

I would guarantee its from your turbo!

Im not too worried about it since it wasnt bubbling or anything.. but then again Im kinda worried because I keep hearing the negativity of people rebuilding their motors.. Like spinning bearings, getting knocks that turn in to disasters. I trust myself and all and dont think Im burning oil anymore even so Im not real worried. But the truck is going to be beaten like a red headed step child almost regularly

really? Hmmm... I feel a little more comfortable with it then. Just kinda sucks to see that gauge jump like that and you're going "No! stop climbing!" haha

Something isn't right...it shouldn't do that. When you've opened up the cooling system, has it stayed open to the air for long periods of time? I've heard that with Dexcool, leaving it open causes it to kind of gel up a little bit. Are you running an OEM radiator? Have you tried swapping back to a clutch fan just to see if it makes a difference?
