I think its because of the trany. The t56 is the way to go, by far. I love it. The best part is I don't hear that dam winning noise anymore. I hated that first gear, too short. Do it all at once 6.0 and the t56, outside of the truck.. You need a good clutch. There is no crossmember modifications on the 5 speed trucks. It goes in easy this way. It should be easy. let me know if you need anymore info. I been there.
P.S. I hate that fuggin whining noise too

See this guys webpage. He did a T56 swap in his truck. But it was a 5.3. Swap will be the same.
