Default 4 link weight savings

If you had a 2003 SIlverado reg cab short box and you swapped from the stock leaf springs in the back to a 4 link would you save any weight? I'm planning out a build and want to do a manual sport truck but need to get weight around 3500 (similar to an F-body) so I can use a T-56 and not worry about destroying transmissions. A reg cab truck seems to weigh in around 4800lbs so I need to shave off quite a lot of weight to make this work. I'm trying to build the sport truck GM didn't in the early 2000s, I have an 03 Silverado SS and love the truck but it's heavy and will forever be an auto. Always thought it would be fun to have a RWD sport truck to play with too.

So would I save any weight doing this?

I'm considering going to a 4 link. If I do I will weight all the parts and report back.

Awesome, thanks man. I know dropping that much weight will mean it will look like a truck but not do any truck stuff anymore I just think it will be fun and a cheap project considering I have a Silverado SS parts truck that has everything I need for the most part
