This is what I did to the 4.8 so It won't be a dog off the line anymore---put that bitch under a table at work and installed a LQ9
I spent $800 on the engine- engine could have been a direct drop but I decided to take it apart and inspect it, and replace ALL the gaskets and seals.
I did the install my self so no labor there.
Total on the engine I spent about $1100.........not counting the cam swap and supporting parts.
Less than a new set of Dynatech headers!
