4.8 and 5.3 differences

thanks brick! that finishes up what i was looking for. It would be nice to just pick one up and set it in when I had time, but I can't afford another engine. I'm not too concerned about having to rebuild one...as I only have 20k miles on my truck, lol. So just putting in a crank and new rods will suffice.
I may look into doing this, I haven't heard of anyone on here doing it, since most people just swap to the 6.0 (that will come eventually). But this seems like it might hold me over for awhile.

I had a freind that wanted to do it too but by the time you buy a crank for around $75 and the rods for around $50. You still need to balance the crank to the new rods and pistons... its also a good Idea to put in new rod bolts. Might as well get a small cam and springs while its apart... Yes, These things will snow ball that fast... just be prepaired.

psh. I've got at least 5 bucks worth of pennies in that useless hole between the cig. lighter and aux power port.
I'm working on it, but after rent, phone, internet, insurance... I'm broke. That's why I'm hopin for this promotion. maybe I'll get an extra quarter out of it.
