lots and lots of work, and mula

about the first thing you will need to take care of if your going to try it, is get the transmission reworked..
deffinatly get it seriously upgraded to a stout 65E..
3.73 gears or smaller..
posi,
2800 or larger stall... (I did it with a 2800)
Efans
sofar the only cam I have seen get a 4.8L N/A into the 13's is the TR224 cam..
there may be others but I havnt seen it.
also Tuning..
a set of long tubes will work good to.. allthough I am running shorties with mine..
weight reduction, and track time..
that should get you close..if not into the high 13's

i'd recomend going with a 4.10 gear and at least a 3000 stall or more as a starting point. you're going to want to have your own tuning software. in order to get every bit of power out of your 4.8L like you're going to need to run the number, you're going to need it tuned very well. cam will be a must, but i'd say start with a posi, 4.10 gear and the converter. next, buy HPTuners. from there start into looking at your times and trap speeds to see where you need most help. work your way into a cam, cold air intake, exhaust, headers, cal trac's, shift kit, lighter wheels, etc. there's only one way to get there with a 4.8L and that's to spin the **** out of it. (rpm wise).
