Default 3" Lift ???

Like it says in my sig... new truck, awaiting mods. I have an 03 Z71, what's the best way to get a 3" lift, I've heard that crankin' the torsion bars to the max gives a horrible ride. I'd like to do a suspension lift, instead of a body lift. What kits are out there, and how much $$$ for them??? I'm thinkin of running 33's, would they rub with a proper lift, if so... then what size would be the max? Thanks in advance. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

If you do a 3" body lift, your ride will remain the same and you can fit 33s. Body lifts are cheap, about $250-300 for the kit. Then just get some side step-bars to hide the ugly frame that is more visible from the body lift.

Suspension lift on 4x4s will run you $1400-1800 depending on brand. Labor can be quite pricey unless you do it yourself.

To see some examples of lift kits, check out www.performancelifts.com

My 2wd is lifted 7" and I run 33s. Check the link in my signature for photos. 2wd trucks start out 2" shorter than 4x4s, so that is how yours would look like with a 5" total lift.
