Default 275/70/16 tire question.

is this tire to narrow for a 10 inch wide wheel? im trying to get the tallest tire i can on my 2wd and i have 2 inch daystars in the front. if not any tire size suggestions? i just dont want much gap. the wheels are 16x10 by the way. im running a 295/50/16 now and they are really wide but short.

How do the 295s sit now? The 275s are about 3/4" narrower depending on the makes of the tires.

That's the same size tire that I'm running for my winter set-up, using the factory 16" aluminum wheel. It seems to fit the factory wheel perfectly, so I think that a 10" wheel would be too wide. (isn't the factory wheel 7" wide?). It would probably mount up, just not properly.

According to Toyo's website, their 275/70-16 Proxes S/T tires are designed to fit a 7-9" wide wheel. I"ve heard of people running a wider tire than what is recommended and have no issues. However, I don't know how safe and reliable it would be to run a narrow tire.

so what would be the next best size that is about this height that will safely go on a 10 inch wheel? the only other size i could find is a 285/65/16 and pirelli and continental are the only ones that make one and i was really wanting a bfg or toyo. but if all else fails i guess i could throw the blocks in the rear and 3 inch control arms and run 285/75s.
