Default 2008 Suburban with a diesel option?

I heard the rumor, is there any truth to it? Man I hope there is, I just almost bought a 6.0L 3/4 ton the other day too.

On a different note, when are they going to put the 6L90's in the Tahoe/Suburban's?

If theres any truth to it, it would be on GMinsidenews.com. I havent heard anything about it and I highly doubt it though.

As for the 6-speeds, I think those go in all GMT900s next model year.

I would take a 6.0 gasser if the 6L90 was hookered up to it. But I would really prefer the diesel....damn GM come to your senses! I heard the reason for not having one was the size of the allison, any truth to that?

could be, but since these are new models maybe they made room for it? I still wouldnt expect it but who really knows, since these "new" 07s use old drivetrains. I dont think GM has released TOO much info on the 08s since they're so far away and wouldnt want people to wait. You just have to play the waiting game.

The full size vans with the durmax have a 4l80E right! I think the durmax with the 6l90E would fit! GM is lazy!

There was a big tadoo about gm making its own ohv diesel a bit ago. There was an interview with one of the engineers that had one for testing in a Buick Ranier. It was about 5.0L and was a v8. The reviews even had a physical sketch of it comparing its size to a lsx motor. The goal of the engine was to make it fit anywhere a LS v8 could fit... so thats probably the diesel you will see in tahoe's and suburbans. The DMAx requires the allison, and that is too big to fit anywhere but in the HD frames.

Yep, they get the detuned 250hp, 460lb/ft Duramax backed by the 4L85E.
